Sweepstake Committee
| The Sweepstakes Committee is compose of eight individuals which are current members of the CVMGA. The eight individuals are broken into four teams. Each team will have duties assigned through out the season. These duties are to set up the teams on Saturday for the following Thursday Sweepstakes 18 hole event. A member can sign up on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board, on the CVMWGA.COM website or on a sign up sheet located at the pro shop desk. The scheduled team meets on Saturday morning and uses those that have signed up to establish the foursomes for Thursday. The foursomes are determined using GHIN Tournament Pairing Program software. The teams are set up using a random procedure to allow everyone to play with a good mix of other CVMGA members. A variety of games are played and varied from week to week. Team prizes are awarded for the low score each week. A $5 fee is charged to create the prize money. The awards are made in Pro Shop credit. Each week an individual quota event is held which requires an additional fee of $1. The quota is calculated giving 1 point for bogey, 2 points for par, 4 points for birdie and 8 points for an eagle. Your quota is determined by subtracting your handicap from 36 except for those with handicaps greater than 24. For handicaps greater than 24 the quota is 12. Previous history has shown that the capping the "handicap" at 24 evens the playing field. The awards for the Quota are paid in cash. There is a closet to the pin contest on the seventh par 3 hole and the winner is awarded $5. |
