WHO
ARE
WE?
The Cranberry Valley Men’s Golf Association (CVMGA) was formed
for the purpose of promoting good fellowship among resident members of
Cranberry Golf Course and Harwich citizens, and to encourage the playing
of golf and associated activities. Members are expected to conduct
themselves on the golf course as gentlemen and to observe the rules of
golf and golf etiquette
We are a group of Harwich residents, including junior players and others
who are eligible to become annual or daily green fee members of
Cranberry Valley Golf Course, and who in good standing, having paid the
current year’s fee for such membership. Becoming a member enables one
to maintain a United States Golf Association Handicap by posting scores
through the Association’s link with the Massachusetts Golf
Association. Some members join solely to maintain their handicap while
others join so that, having moved into Harwich, they can meet and have
matches scheduled for them with other resident members. Members are
welcome to participate in the Associations organized weekly Sweepstakes
and other tournaments.
The CVMGA is organized with a slate of officers, elected by its members
at their annual October meeting. The Officers elected include a
President, Vice-President and Secretary / Treasurer. The Association
relies on the following committees to carry out its purposes:
Sweepstakes
Tournaments
Handicap
Scholarship
Fellowship
The members also elect a Board of Governors who serve as advisors and
provide a chain of communications between the general membership and the
Associations officers. The members also convene an annual April meeting
to start the new season. Notice of CVMGA annual meetings is provided to
all members in good standing.
